Technology
has significantly improved over the last several years in the care of Venous Reflux
Disease. With the advent of minimally invasive office based treatments for the
pain associated with varicose veins and venous reflux, Vein Stripping (and its
associated long recovery time, need for general anesthetic, and high hospital
costs) is essentially a thing of the past. We now perform radiofrequency ablation
(RFA) closure of the greater saphenous vein in the office with minimal anesthesia
and minimal recovery time. Most patients are able to perform their normal activities
the next morning after the procedure. We also perform office based ambulatory
phlebectomy of larger superficial veins, and sclerotherapy and laser ablation
of spider veins. We work very closely with most health insurance companies
and ensure that all non-cosmetic procedures are preapproved prior to performing
the procedure. Many patients do not realize that insurance actually does cover
minimally invasive treatment for venous reflux disease and the pain associated
with it. VNUS is the manufacturer of the radiofrequency ablation generator
we currently use to treat venous reflux. We believe the VNUS closure procedure
to be the most effective and gentle minimally invasive procedure to treat venous
reflux and varicose vein disease. Please CLICK

This site is very informative and also demonstrates an animation of how the VNUS
closure procedure works. Remember, an informed patient makes the best decisions.Drs
